Creative businesses can benefit from external finance and a focus on IP

Posted on March 15, 2011 by admin

Mackintosh Capital partner Simon Clegg was the keynote speaker at the Creative Business Leader event in Cardiff, 9 March 2011. The event was sponsored by Skillset with support fom S4C. Following an earlier session exploring routes for creative businesses to leverage their IP, Simon shared some insights about how creative businesses can improve their ‘investability’ and utilise external financing which may be available. Commenting, Simon noted ” Wales has a vibrant creative sector with some structural challenges ahead. The winners going forward will be the companies which embrace sources of finance and support over and above traditional production commission-based financing. External financing sources are available for companies which position themselves ahead of time. Our own investment focus includes creative businesses and companies in sectors with strong teams and IP assets.”
